Two Types of Milk Protein

There are two types of milk protein supplement which I consume: Whey protein and Casein protein. Think about it like curds and whey… curds = casein

Whey protein is most quickly absorbed by the body. This is the best type of protein supplement for everyone to take, especially right after your workout. I consume three to five servings of whey protein per day. Each serving has about 120 calories and 24 grams of protein.

Casein protein sort of gels up in your stomach. Casein protein takes a while for your body to digest. When I am trying to gain muscle weight, I consume one serving of casein per day, and always before bed (so my body has protein to digest all night long). I only recommend casein protein for advanced training.

Other types of protein supplements include soy protein, hemp protein, and egg protein.
