New York, I Love You trailer.

Here are the parts of the trailer that resonated to me the most:

“… these little moments on the sidewalks, you can watch the buildings, you can feel the air, and look at the people. Sometimes meet somebody you feel like you can talk to.”

Yes, this is true for me. I meet more people in New York that I feel like I can be very good friends with. Because we all have a lot in common and we have very similar reference experiences. (Even the friends that I have abroad seem to have interests that are parralel or at least tangent with my own.)

“This is the capital of everything possible”

Yes, I firmly believe that America is the global home of entrepreneurs who can make it big (REALLY big).

Otherwise I think a lot of the things in this trailer can apply to almost ANY city. Things like…

• “everyone came from somewhere else”
• strangers speaking different languages
• accusing someone of being an actor
• kissing in a taxi
• drinking alcohol on a bench in a public place
• “sometimes you just gotta yell in this city to get someone to hear you” (implying that the city is very loud, or you can get lost in the crowd)
• nice views
• personal relationships involving romance

All of these can apply to ANY top 20 global city.
It is important for me to keep that in mind as I strive to have a global perspective.
