What are some celebrity bar hangouts in NYC?

I have a customer coming to NYC next week and he has emailed me requesting this advice.

“My wife Janine is a celeb spotting fan (buys all the celeb magazines) and we would like any celeb bar tip offs. So Ho and West Village sound nice, where should we go?”

Preferably places without a list. Not expecting to see any actual TV or movie stars, but would be nice to send them to places with a nice NYC vibe.
